Hester Lynch Thrale Piozzi was born in Wales on January 27, 1741, or January 16, 1740, and died on May 2, 1821. She was a diarist, author, and arts supporter. She is a key source for information about Samuel Johnson and life in England in the 18th century. She was from the well-known Anglo-Welsh Salusbury family, who owned land. She married two rich men, first a wealthy brewer named Henry Thrale and then a music teacher named Gabriel Mario Piozzi. Her most famous works are Anecdotes of the Late Samuel Johnson (1786) and her notebook Thraliana, which came out after she died in 1942. She also wrote a dictionary, a trip book, and a well-known history book. People have seen her as a female leader. In Caernarvonshire, Wales, Hester Lynch Salusbury was born at Bodvel Hall. She was the only child of Hester Lynch Cotton and Sir John Salusbury. She was part of one of the most famous Welsh land-owning families of the Georgian era. Her family was the wealthy Salusbury family. Kathyrn of Berain was a straight ancestor of hers through her father. Hester had a great education for a young woman and loved having her uncles pay close attention to her.
