Doyle is also known as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle" or "Conan Doyle", suggesting that "Conan" is part of the title of his compound name. He got baptized in St Mary's Cathedral, Edinburgh. After baptism, he got the name " Arthur Ignatius Conan" and "Doyle" as his last name. Many other names like Michael Conan were regarded as his godfather. The indexes of the British Library and the Library of Congress treat "Doyle" alone as his last name. Doyle was born on 22 May 1859 at 11 Picardy Place, Edinburgh, Scotland. His father, Charles Altamont Doyle, settled in England, of Irish Catholic plummet, and his mother, Mary (née Foley), was Irish Catholic. His parents got married in 1855. In 1864, the family dissipated due to Charles' developing liquor addiction, and the children were briefly housed across Edinburgh. Arthur stayed with Mary Burton, the aunt of a companion, at Liberton Bank House on Gilmer ton Road and continued studying at Newington Academy. Sir Arthur Ignatius Conan was a British essayist and doctor. He was the man behind the creation of the famous fictional detective, Sherlock Holmes in 1887 for 'A Study in Scarlet'. He had written four books and 56 brief tales about Holmes and Dr. Watson.
