Bacon And Shakespeare

About the Book

Bacon and Shakespeare is a historical account that delves into the controversial debate surrounding the authorship of William Shakespeare's plays. The work challenges the claims made by proponents of the Baconian theory, which suggests that Francis Bacon, rather than Shakespeare, authored the plays attributed to the latter. The book critiques the foundations of Baconianism, arguing that the theory is based on misunderstandings and distortions of the historical figures involved. It seeks to reaffirm Shakespeare's position as the true author by providing evidence and reasoning against the idea of Bacon's authorship. Through an examination of the characters and actions of both figures, the work aims to clarify the distinctions between them and dismantle the arguments supporting BaconÍs role as the playwright. The narrative is focused on presenting a thorough analysis of the controversy, highlighting the qualities and achievements of both Bacon and Shakespeare, and ultimately reinforcing the credibility of Shakespeare's authorship of the plays. This exploration emphasizes the importance of historical context and careful examination when assessing claims that challenge established literary truths.

About Author

Albert F. Calvert

Albert Frederick Calvert was an English author, engineer, and explorer, born on July 20, 1872, in Kentish Town, Middlesex, England. He was the son of mining engineer John Frederick Calvert and Grace Calvert, née Easley. His younger brother, Leonard, accompanied him on an exploration to Western Australia, but tragically passed away during the journey. Calvert became active in Australia, particularly in the remote Murchison region, where he conducted several explorations. His notable contributions include documenting wildlife and conducting surveys of the Australian frontier. One of his key discoveries was a bird he named the "Spinifex Paraquet," although the specimen was lost. Calvert’s work in the region culminated in the publication of Western Australia: its history and progress in 1894. In addition to his explorations, Calvert’s writings also included works on engineering and history. His life was marked by his adventurous spirit and dedication to documenting the lesser-known aspects of Australia’s natural history. He passed away on June 27, 1946, in Islington, London, at the age of 73, leaving a legacy as an explorer and author with a keen interest in the Australian frontier.
