Merwin's notable works include The Honey Bee: A Story of a Woman in Revolt (1915), Calumet 'K' (1918), and Henry Is Twenty: A Further Episodic History of Henry Calverly, 3rd (1918). In addition to his novels, he wrote plays like His Little World: The Story of Hunch Badeau (1903) and The Trufflers: A Story. His exploration of personal struggles and societal pressures resonated with many readers. Merwin’s works often focused on characters’ emotional journeys and their inner conflicts.
