He was married to Emma Rutherford in 1856, and together they had three children: Emma Maria, Isabella, and Mary Ellen. Murray's parents were Andrew Murray Sr., a Scottish missionary, and Maria Susanna Stegmann, of Dutch descent. His legacy is marked by his commitment to faith and his desire to deepen the understanding of God’s work in the world. After a long and impactful life, Andrew Murray passed away on January 18, 1917, at the age of 88, in Wellington, South Africa. His teachings remain influential in Christian thought and practice.
